CPU AMD Ryzen 5 4500

All AMD Ryzen™ 4000 Series processors come with the full suite of AMD Ryzen™ technologies designed to elevate your PC’s processing power including Precision Boost 2 and Precision Boost Overdrive3.

With a TDP of 65 W, the Ryzen 5 4500 consumes typical power levels for a modern PC. AMD's processor supports DDR4 memory with a dual-channel interface. The highest officially supported memory speed is 3200 MHz, but with overclocking (and the right memory modules) you can go even higher. For communication with other components in the system, Ryzen 5 4500 uses a PCI-Express Gen 3 connection. This processor does not have integrated graphics, you will need a separate graphics card.

Graphics card GeForce GTX 1660Ti

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660Ti OC 6GB is a mid-range graphics card option for gaming and other graphics-intensive applications. It has 6GB of GDDR6 memory and a boost clock speed of 1800 MHz, making it a great option for gaming at 1080p or 1440p resolutions. It also has a TDP of 120 watts, which is relatively low for a graphics card in this performance range, making it more power-efficient and cooler running than some of its competitors.

The card features Gigabyte's Windforce 2X cooling system, which includes two 90mm fans, a composite copper heat pipe, and direct-touch GPU technology. This cooling solution helps to keep the card cool and quiet during operation, even under heavy loads.

Advantages of a desktop computer

Mobile processors and graphics cards have become more powerful in the last couple of years but the difference between the performance of a laptop and a desktop PC is still marginal. Of course, you can run modern games and even professional photo and video editing software on a laptop but at the same price point a desktop computer will offer more performance than a laptop at almost any task.

In our experience insufficient cooling is also a serious problem in laptops and there’s an easy explanation – users want their devices to be powerful yet thin and light which is almost an impossible combination to achieve. Most consumers and manufacturers prefer design and mobility over performance, which results in a visually attractive product that heats up rapidly after just few minutes or even seconds after putting an increased load on the main components. Laptop fans start spinning faster to cope with the excessive heat. This increases the noise and is very often not effective enough, so the CPU and/or GPU reaches its temperature limit and the thermal throttling (self-preservation by significantly lowering the clock speed) kicks in. That results in a big loss of performance.
